The Benjamin Sheridan Blue Streak Air Rifle is the most popular air gun in America for 50 years straight, according to the majority of rifle enthusiasts. What’s best is that this rifle is now upgraded with today’s superior trigger mechanism and tighter tolerance quality that all the more enhances the Sheridan’s overall performance.
With a well-designed and lightweight hardwood stock that fits perfectly in your hands, it’s not really that hard to fall in love with this gun. Its butt-plate is custom fit and it sports a black-finished barrel. It’s basically a multi-pump pneumatic air gun with an estimated muzzle velocity of 675 feet per second.
Within 8 to 10 pumps, you will be ready to aim and shoot the desired target within 30 yards with minimal errors. Truth be told, there’s no other air gun out there today that can outmatch the Sheridan Air Rifle’s excellent performance in spite of its age.
Sheridan Blue Streak Air Rifle Benefits

Being old doesn’t really mean that it’s outdated. As a matter of fact, this rifle has been constantly improvised throughout the years, with finer details added to the whole package such as a fully adjustable rear sight and swelled forearm.
When it comes to construction, everything is classic and darn good. Most Sheridan Air Rifle users out there say that the rifle is no doubt powerful and accurate. It is no wonder why the Sheridan continues to be a bestseller and favorite.

Sheridan Air Rifle Recommendations
A compressed air rifle does feel a whole lot different from a spring type. Although this Benjamin Sheridan Blue Streak is not the lock and load type like the ones that we usually have in stores nowadays, it’s still a timeless classic for air rifles I should say.
Unfortunately, there’s a bit of an effort on your side to work on the pump. But considering the rifle’s accuracy, it’s still the perfect deal. To improve your accuracy, I highly recommend that you use a scope to nail your target all the time. It is also advisable to use another screw on the rear part to lessen the vibration. And to keep the rifle in top shape and in perfect condition, always add one pump of air every after shooting. It’s a very simple maintenance technique you shouldn’t miss out.
Pros
- No technique needed to shoot

- Extremely accurate
- Very durable (proven and tested for decades)
- Overall construction is very good
- Well-crafted
- High quality rifle
- Hard hitting air gun
- Penetrates deeply
- Long-lasting
Cons
- Hard to pump for some
- Vibration after a shot (negligible though)
- Compressed air rifle (the spring type is what is common in the market)
Benjamin Sheridan Blue Streak Comparison
Personally, I would say that it is not fair to compare this war-tested veteran to the new spring type air rifles of today – such as the Diana RWS 350 Magnum and the Gamo Whisper. Yes, these new rifles might have more knocking power on a long range scale, but c’mon, the Sheridan Air Rifle is on a different kind of level, even legendary.
